The Work Company’s Positive Directions service, which began in December and delivers employment support to customers with mental health needs in the Liverpool City Region, has had its first job success.
The successful customer is a young person from South Liverpool who has had multiple interviews in the past, but always seemed to fall at the last hurdle. The customer needed support with low motivation and confidence, and The Work Company team helped him with interview preparation and conducted speculative application sessions with him.
After two interviews with a prospective employer, the customer was over the moon to be offered a full-time contract working as a sales assistant for Footasylum , a national shoe retailer.
The customer’s Work Company advisor has continued to support him with travel to work, and an In Work Support Action Plan has been put in place to help the customer to successfully remain in post.
